STURBRIDGE OFFICE PARK, FISKDALE, MA – In June All Star Incentive Marketing reached its 40th anniversary. In celebration of this milestone All Star hosted an event inviting all those who contributed to their four decades of success in an event titled “The Journey Then & Now”. Attendees included employees (past and present), customers, partners, dignitaries, friends, and family.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts House of Representatives congratulated All Star’s accomplishment with a plaque presented by Massachusetts State Representative Todd Smola. In similar fashion the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Senate extended an official citation in recognition for the 40th anniversary which was presented by State Senator Anne Gobi.
Senator Gobi, who was grateful to have had the opportunity to attend the event, had this to say the morning after... “Thank you again for inviting me to the 40th celebration. You have a terrific family; I value my family and I can tell that you are all close. You don't always see that today.”
The celebration took place as the inaugural event in the newly opened Table 3 facility known as “The Barn at Wight Farm” located in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. The beautiful post and beam facility was the ideal setting for All Star, a company which was started in an old Sturbridge trolley station on Rt. 131 in 1975 (now the location of Hometown Bank) and then moved in the 1980s into the farm house across the street. That building was built in the 1800s and had an attached post and beam barn which was used as the company’s first true warehouse.
Throughout the event Table 3 staff provided the hors d’oeuvres, carving station, and libations served near an intricately carved ice sculpture. All Star’s own employees produced the remarkable custom designed cake, the music and the singing. Ed and Ann Galonek’s sons, Gary, Brian, and Ed Jr., took turns telling humorous and poignant stories about how their parents overcame obstacles and demonstrated the “can do” attitude that has become the hallmark of the Galonek Family. A glimpse of the future was also provided as the Galonek’s outlined their plans to launch GoalUP, a new company built around a web and mobile platform designed to help parents inspire their kids to set and reach goals as a way of reinforcing the behaviors that will help them succeed throughout their lives. The new company is targeting a soft launch in July of this year with a full roll out in August.
Current company President, Brian Galonek commented “I watched with great pride as our own employees design the invitations and the presentation, played and sang the music, created a cake that was a true work of art and stayed around late into the evening to listen and tell stories about their years as part of the All Star family. I thought to myself, none of this would be taking place if my parents hadn’t got this ball rolling more than 40 years ago.”
Some who were unable to attend affectionately sent their sentiments. Chris Donnelly, who began working with Ed Galonek Sr. in the 1980s while at companies like Allied-Signal and Dunkin’ Donuts, and who remains a customer to this day, had this to say…”Tonight is an incredible milestone for the Galonek Family and generations of hard working family members. I have had the pleasure of being a customer and friend [of the Galoneks] since 1980. Tonight I toast to all of you and Mike Balcom, the “adopted” Galonek 4th son, for continued success, health and friendship.”
